Mike Fowler
Mike Fowler began training Jiu-Jitsu in late 2001. For him jiu-jitsu isn’t something you do, it’s something you live. He is the 3rd fastest American to receive a BJJ Blackbelt. BJ Penn did it in 3.5 years, Master Lloyd did it in 3.5 years, and Mike Fowler was able to accomplish this feat in just under 4 years.
Through Jiu-jitsu Mike Fowler has traveled the World and competed internationally and even started a international competition team that placed in the biggest competition in Asia. This being one of the first times Team Lloyd Irvin has placed as a team in a Confederation (CBJJ) sanctioned event. His teaching style is like that of Master Lloyds, and his knowledge and understanding has helped many students to grow and learn at an accelerated pace using Master Lloyds teaching principles.
Mike began training at an affiliate school in Virginia Beach shortly after high school in 2001. In 2002 after receiving his blue belt from Master Lloyd Irvin, felt that the countless 4 hour drives every week to the Camp Springs gym were becoming hard to do. It was then Mike decided to make the move to Maryland and officially began his life in the Martial Arts.
