<p>Flow Drilling is nothing more than doing your techniques<em> over, over, and over again [repetition is key </em><strong> <img src='http://lloydirvinlive.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </strong><em>]</em> with your partner. While BJJ flow drilling you&#8217;re telling your partner what to do and keep flowing from position to position to submission to submission to position. When you first start off you wanna start at a good pace. While you&#8217;re flowing from position to position you can tell your partner to have his leg up after a sweep, or to bring his knee to his chest during a certain transition. This way you are flow drilling practical tournament scenarios.</p>
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;">How Does Flow Drilling Help?</span></h3>
<p>When you start<a href="http://lloydirvinlive.com/blog/516/combat-gold-club-gracie-jiu-jitsu-training-camp-springs-md/" target="_blank"> flow drilling</a> you should take the time to put your moves together in a transitional sequence. You go over all the scenarios and different options in your head and go over them duirng the &#8220;flow.&#8221; When you go into a tournament you have a set game plan from all the different positions and scenarios you have drilled from the flow drilling training technique.  Flow Drilling helps out a lot with your timing. While your flowing you are seeing when your techniques and options open up. When you keep doing it, it becomes 2nd nature to react in all the different scenarios at a tournament. Your transitional timing will get better from practice.</p>
<h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;">I Get Stuck During The Flow Drilling. What Do I Do?</span></h3>
<p>Many times when you start flow drilling you may miss a transition. For example, you may not have your grip in the correct spot, so as you keep going working the &#8220;flow drills&#8221; you will definitely clean up your transitions. If you can beat your opponent to the transition during a pass you will pass. The competition team will be set to rock n roll to finish up 2010! We are all super stoked to put the strength and conditioning to the test! AGAIN! Everyone who did the workouts building up to the Mundials felt awesome. Tired was not in our vocabulary. We are working on getting real strong now with all these squats and core workouts. All I can say is that Im super excited.</p>
<p>My legs feel like jelly right now&#8230; Coach D&#8217;s workouts hit the spot! Something is working. HA!</p>

<p>Another great day of training today. Im having a hard time typing because today was upper body Thursdays. My shoulders are burning, tricepts are tight, and abs are near cramping from all the crunches we did. But Hey! No pain no gain!</p>
<p>We had a special guest from California, Jamie Yager, from this season of The Ultimate Fighter. He is really good friends with teammate Kris &#8220;Savage&#8221; McCray and came down to visit for a few days.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget if you didn&#8217;t get tickets for this Saturdays UWC&#8230; GO GET EM NOW!!! Gonna be a good card with some Team Lloyd Irvin fighters.</p>

Then&#8230; It Happens!</p>
<p>The good guy bad guy effect! One guy on your shoulder says&#8230;<br />
&#8220;Naww you don&#8217;t need to get up to work out! You can work out after you get everything done today. Just sleep in because you&#8217;ll workout harder if you get enough sleep. The pillows feel soooo goooood!&#8221;<br />
The other guy says&#8230;<br />
&#8220;You were telling yourself ALL WEEK that you were gonna wake up and go workout. Get out of bed and go straight to the bathroom. Wash your face with super duper cold water and you&#8217;ll wake up. Go Now! Come on Bud&#8230; You can do it! Don&#8217;t listen to the other guy on your other shoulder!&#8221;</p>
<p>HAHAH We all have this problem&#8230; Now! The solution is&#8230; You need a 3rd person to tell you what to do. And it has to be Yourself!<br />
Now YOU have to tell yourself&#8230;<br />
&#8220;WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUM! GET OUT NOW! DONT THINK ABOUT IT! GET IN YOUR CAR AND GO WORK OUT! GO GO GO GO GO!&#8221;</p>
<p>That always helps for me! LOL&#8230;</p>
<p>The moral of the story&#8230; DO NOT listen to the negative guy on your shoulder! Get up and Work Out!</p>
